TIME TO VOLUNTEER – CAN YOU SPARE TIME for the Smile Charity?...
Part of the Golden-Oldies Charity, Goldies CYMRU reaches out to older people as well as those with learning difficulties and dementia through its increasing number of daytime singing and activity sessions and its schools intergenerational programmes. "Goldies" as our Charity has become known, uses singing to bring people together in a friendly and stimulating social environment. Goldies is NOT a choir but we do use the singing of those memory-evoking hits of the 50s onwards at all our sessions which take place across Wales and Southern England.
Singing in a group is widely recognised as being not only an enjoyable activity, but a great way to improve wellbeing and form new friendships. Goldies CYMRU sessions are a wonderful way for older people to express themselves and socialise with others in a fun and supportive group. Come along to a session and discover Goldies.

Sandra Ricardo volunteers in the Canton session, helping out with distributing the books and setting up the room. As well as making the teas and coffees and distributing information about Goldies sessions across Cardiff. She is a vital asset to the group being so successful.
Shan Parfitt regularly helps out our session leader in Adamsdown, Cardiff. Shan has been a long standing volunteer and is always on hand to help out and sit with the group helping less able participants enjoy the session and make their time in Goldies that much more fun.
Richard and Beryl Fitzjohn have been supporting Goldies Cymru for many, many years. They help with administration, and assisting in large events across Wales. They are a wonderful couple who have been a fantastic help to Goldies.
