Tredegar Library is a fairly new session run by Carol Pegler on the 2nd Tuesday of every month 12-1.00pm. All the Library staff are there to support the hour long session.

I sat next to Jim and his beautiful dog Jenson. Jim uses the Goldies Braille book every week. Jim showed me how to find the numbers. Elaine is partially sighted and accompanied by her husband Rod and their lovely black Labrador Isaac. Elaine benefitted from the large print books especially adapted for the visually impaired.

The session was so lively and full of strong voices and laughter.

But this lovely Goldies session doesn’t end there. At the end they all pack up and head across the road to Morgan’s Café for lunch together every month.

The feedback from the Community Development Officer who helped to get this session started is this:

“I love working alongside Carol as her enthusiasm is infectious”

Angie Thompson-Roach sings Goldies praises wherever she goes.

Many thanks to Carol and all our session leaders for genuinely making such a difference to so many people’s lives.
